Ambassador presented his Letter of Credence to H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of Somalia, 19 August 2026 at Villa Somalia. He conveyed greetings of Hon’ble Rashtrapati ji and Hon’ble PM.  Ambassador emphasized his commitment to further strengthen ties between India and Somalia.

Ambassador called on Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia  H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama on 18 August 2026.  The discussions covered key areas of bilateral cooperation and ways to further strengthen it in diverse sectors of mutual interest.

Ambassador called on H.E. Dahir Shire Mohamed, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Somalia. They exchanged views on opportunities for Indian companies for collaboration in petroleum and mining sectors in Somalia, including capacity-building of Somalian nationals in these sectors.

Ambassador met H.E Ali Mohamed Omar, State Foreign Minister of Somalia. They discussed a range of bilateral issues to further deepen India’s engagements with Somalia and also exchanged views on some regional issues and developments.

Ambassador met a delegation of Som India, an organisation having more than 500 members, who have studied in Indian universities. Ambassador expressed appreciation for their continued association with the Embassy and their contribution in strengthening people to people linkages between India and Somalia, particularly relating to trade, education and culture.

Ambassador had an interactive session with a number of Indian nationals working in Mogadishu. He assured the Indian community members that their welfare remains top priority of the Embassy. The consular officer also provided clarity on their consular queries.

Ambassador met H.E Pier Mario Dacco Coppi, Ambassador of Italy to Somalia, in Mogadishu.
