Attendant visa. This App is also integrated; with e-FRRO
portal, thereby, facilitating foreign nationals to apply for extension
of Visa, Residential Permit, Exit Permit from the concerned FRRO/FRO
(Foreigners Regional Registration Office/ Foreigners Registration
Office) while they are still in India. Additional features of the App
also include useful information on utility services like details of
touristic places, government agencies, transport services, places of
entertainment, health services, lodging,food and shopping, etc., aimed
to make foreigners stay in India smooth and easy. Note: E-Visa is not processed by this Mission. E-Visa is applied/approved/paid online and is sent on e-mail provided/filled in the visa application by the applicant. |
Kenyan nationals are eligible for both E-visa and Regular/Paper Visa
1. This Mission issues only regular/paper visa. For Regular/Paper visas, applicants should fill online visa application forms on https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html and submit a print out of filled-in form with two colour photographs (51mm x 51mm) with white background (not older than 3 months) and documents as specified below. Regular/Paper visas are normally processed in 3-5 working days. Services shall commence only after the confirmation of payment by the Bank.
2. Applicants applying for E-visa may visit https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. Kindly note that E-Visa is not processed by this Mission. E-Visa is applied/approved/paid online and is sent on e-mail provided/filled in the visa application by the applicant.
Yellow Fever and Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV)
The Yellow Fever Vaccine is mandatory for all visitors of Kenyan nationalities, travelling to India. In case of Somali nationals, both Yellow Fever Vaccine and Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV) are mandatory. The Yellow Fever vaccine should be administered at least 10 days and OPV at least 4 weeks prior to traveling India through a Government approved medical clinic, Institute or hospital. The certificates of Yellow Fever and Polio Vaccination should be carried along with the other immigration documents. This is a mandatory requirement as per the Government of India's regulations.
NOTE:
1. Original documents will be returned after verification at the counter.
2. After the submission of application at the High Commission, fee is to be deposited at Kenyatta Avenue Branch of Bank of India in Nairobi in favour of the High Commission of India, Nairobi or it can be deposited at the High Commission itself using M-Pesa/Master Card/Visa Card.
3. After the payment of fee, applicant need not visit High Commission to show the fee paid challan.
4. High Commission reserves the right to decline visa even if the visa fee has been paid. Payment of fee does not guarantee issuance of visa.
5. In addition to list of documents mentioned against particular type of visa certain other documents may also be needed whose requirement can be ascertained only after the applicant appears in person, along with original documents, and meets our consular officer.
6. Visa fee paid is non-refundable.
7. Validity of visa is from the date of its issue.
8. If visa applicant is not normally resident of Kenya or if he/she does not hold a Kenyan resident permit, visa processing may take longer time. Visa fee may also differ in such cases and additional documents may be sought.
9. The applicant’s copy of the receipt, duly stamped by the bank (along with Electronic Transaction Receipt i.e. ETR), should be produced at the time of collection of Services.
10. For Medical Visa only: The documents can only be presented or collected by one of the attendants or a close relative with letter of authority duly signed by the applicant; it should contain details of the authorized person’s ID card/Passport which can be verified. No application shall be accepted from a third party in any circumstance.

4. Copy of Confirmed air ticket
1. Filled-in and signed hard copy of the online visa application form for patient and attendant (if applicable). Applicant/Attendant should be present in person.
2. Two recent photographs (51mmx51mm) with white background, one pasted at the application and other attached.
3. Letter of invitation from an approved Hospital/recognized Doctor in India mentioning name of patent/attendant(s), Passport number(s), illness, duration of treatment and estimated cost of treatment; (Letter should be sent to visa.nairobi@mea.gov.in)
4. Medical documents establishing the need for taking medical treatment in India along with local hospital/doctor referral letter; (Letter should be emailed to visa.nairobi@mea.gov.in)
5. Proof of availability of sufficient funds for stay in India including the expenses for medical treatment by producing original documents such as Bank statement (past three months), salary certificate, sponsorship/insurance letter etc.; [ If bank statement is issued by another individual, letter of financial undertaking from sponsor and proof of relationship with patient.]

7. Medical Visa Undertaking specifying the purpose of visit to India and return to home country after treatment
8. For Minor children, consent from both parents.
9. In case of follow up treatment, previous medical papers and discharge summary from Indian hospital is to be attached to the application.

Invitation letter from Indian company/ business association/organization/exhibitors etc mentioning the name of applicant, passport number, duration and purpose of the visit along with the registration certificate of the company. 4. Letter of introduction/sponsorship from the local company mentioning the position held by the individual along with the registration certificate of the company. 5. Bank statement of the company/individual sponsoring the trip.
6. Employee ID Card (Copy is to be attached with application form. Original ID card to be brought when coming for visa appointment/interview)
* Conference visa is granted for international conferences held to discuss a particular subject or for a seminar or workshop on a specific subject. Conference visa may also be issued for business meetings, to discuss business matters of a particular company/ organization and Board meetings.
* Conference visa shall be granted to delegates on production of an invitation letter from the organizer(s), a copy of Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division) clearance for holding the conference and a copy of the communication from the Ministry of External Affairs conveying political clearance
Documents required:
1. Original passport valid for a minimum of 6 months (or for the validity requested, whichever is greater)
2. Letter of invitation by name (of the applicant) with an e-mail copy to the Mission by the organizers at visa.nairobi@mea.gov.in. Invitation is to be forwarded from the official email id of the organizer on company letterhead with mobile number of contact person.
3. Introduction letter in original from the Employer (forwarded from the official email id of the employer on company letterhead with mobile number of contact person to visa.nairobi@mea.gov.in
4. Necessary clearances from Government of India (Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and concerned nodal Ministry) for International Events.
5. Employee ID Card (Copy is to be attached with application form. Original ID card to be brought when coming for visa appointment/interview)
6. Certified bank-statement for the last 3 months of company/individual sponsoring the trip.

2. Admission letter in original duly signed and stamped with contact details from an Indian university/school or higher education establishment to follow a full-time course.
3. Copies with originals of applicant’s previous educational qualifications i.e. Primary & Secondary certificates, Mark Sheets, Diploma, etc duly attested either by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Ministry of Education.
4. A letter of support with contact details from the parent/guardian accompanied by a bank guarantee/certificate with a copy of Identity Card. In case of sponsorship of higher education from the State Government or any other Organization, a letter in original duly stamped and signed with contact details of the officer concerned.
5. Evidence of transfer of adequate funds for at least 4 months sustenance in India or production of traveller’s cheques for a similar amount.
6. Indian university/ college/ school to email following to HCI email visa.nairobi@mea.gov.in from their official email id with copy to the applicant:
a. Offer /admission letter
b. Undertaking by Indian university/ college/ school to be responsible for the student during his stay in India and undertake regular FRRO verifications.
7. Student visas would be considered only for regular academic courses from renowned Indian Universities that are accredited from concerned bodies of the Govt of India.

- In case of medical/ paramedical education, a ‘No Objection Letter’ from the Ministry of Health, Government of India is also required to be furnished. Maximum of three entries are allowed in a year. Visa holders are required to register with the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)/Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within 14 days of arrival in India.

2. Research project draft giving full justification (including the benefit he/she would get) for doing the research in India (copy);
3. Indian university/ college/ school to email following to HCI email visa.nairobi@mea.gov.in from their official email id with copy to the applicant:

b. Research project draft and the duration of such research work.
4. A letter of support with contact details from the parent/guardian accompanied by a bank guarantee/certificate with a copy of ID Card. In case of sponsorship any other Organization, a letter in original duly stamped and signed with contact details of the officer concerned.

* A person of Indian origin; spouse and children of a person of Indian national or origin;
* Dependent of a person holding an Employment visa;
* Applicant seeking visa for Auroville Foundation;
* Applicant seeking admission in yoga, Vedic culture or Indian systems of dance and music;
* Applicant, who has purchased property in India with the approval of Reserve Bank of India and registered his/her property in India.

4. Documentary evidence establishing applicant is PIO/spouse/children of Indian citizen/OCI card holder
5. In case, applicant wishes to join the Auroville Foundation, official invitation letter issued by the Secretary of Auroville Foundation. This document must be provided in its original sealed envelope.
6. In case, the applicant is dependent of an Employment visa holder, official documentary evidence proving the dependence:, copy of the birth certificate, copy of the marriage certificate and photocopy of the valid Employment visa.
7. In case, the applicant wishes to pursue a course in yoga, Vedic culture/Indian system of dance and music, (i) letter of admission on letterhead duly stamped and signed from the recognised institution specifying the exact purpose of the visit and its duration, (ii) an official document attesting that the Institution is recognised by Ministry of Home Affairs and is authorised to enrol foreigners
8. In case of property purchased in India, copies of approval of Reserve Bank of India and registration of property.
9. In case of sports teams and sports persons, the requisite approval of the Indian Ministry of sports and Youth Affairs is required.

The “Journalist” visa is a term given to a visa category grouping up multiple sectors of activity. Regardless of the purpose of visit (tourism, personal or professional), applicants working in the following fields of activity are obliged to apply exclusively for a “Journalist” visa: cinema, television, media, writing, publishing, press, photography, communication, advertising… (non-exhaustive list).

4. In case of a professional travel: letter from your employer specifying the exact purpose of your visit and the expected start and end dates. This letter should be on company’s letterhead and written in English with contact details.

6. In case of film-shooting in India : authorization letter from the External Publicity Division of the Ministry of External Affairs in India or Consular Section of the High Commission of India, Nairobi.
* Please note that a 'journalist' traveling to India for tourist or personal purposes must apply for a Journalist visa and not for a Tourist visa.
