Ind SAT 2020 Examination – useful information on technical requirements

 

Ind-SAT 2020 examination will be an Internet Based Assessment where candidates would be required to take the test online through their personal devices (Laptop/Desktop). Date of examination is 16 May 2020.

As of 24 April 2020, 20,000 students have applied for examination. Last date of submission of applications is 30 April 2020.

There will be video proctoring to monitor/surveillance of candidates during the examination. The examination will be time-bound which means there will be a fixed time to start and end the examination.

Candidates will be required to install Launcher Application (of Tata Consultancy Services) on their system. Launcher will monitor the candidate’s device during the examination.

The webcam on the system will take 5 different images of the candidate at different span of timings. These images will be later used for verification of candidate, and images taken will also be matched with the video.

30 minutes will be provided to the candidates before the examination to install launcher application and to fulfill other requirements. Reporting time for the examination will be indicated on the admit card and all students will be required to join/login at that specified time.

Examination can only be attempted from Laptop/Desktop. Examination cannot be conducted on Mac systems. At present, it is also not possible to take examination in smartphones. Possibility of examination through smartphones is being explored and will be intimated nearer to the date of the examination.

Web browsers for the examination are Chrome, Firefox and Mozilla. We are checking on the possibility of ‘Opera’ as web browser. This is yet to be confirmed.

Bandwidth required for Live Proctoring is 20 Mbps and Near-Live Proctoring is 5Mbps.

Technicities of pre-requisites of system will be displayed on the Admit Card.

Mock tests will be made available to students by 1st week of May 2020. Candidates can make themselves accustomed to the system and avoid last minute hassle.
